*After this letter was mailed to city officials,
San Antonio Metro Health Department admitted to making a mistake
with the dog's
Rabies diagnosis. The skunk and dog samples were accidentally
mixed up and the skunk tested heavily for Rabies, but the dog did not.
The dog was euthanized for naught. However Rabies is prevalent among
area wildlife with several cats testing positive for Rabies in recent
years.
